On September 1st, 2022 Twitter began rolling out its most anticipated and requested feature: Edit Tweet. The feature is currently only available for internal testing but Twitter Blue subscribers in specific regions will get the first opportunity to test it publicly. Twitter intended to monitor user behavior before finalizing the feature for a full public rollout.
Update: On October 3rd, 2022 Twitter announced that, after successful testing, Edit Tweet is being rolled out to Twitter Blue subscribers in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. A US rollout is coming soon.
Meta has released a guide to help brands adjust their advertising strategies in response to Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) update. The update allows iOS users to opt out of data tracking across 3rd-party applications.
Launched on April 26th, 2021, the ATT update has had a direct impact on Meta’s ability to use user data to serve targeted ads on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
In response, Meta commissioned its2022 Signal Resiliency Guide. “Signal resiliency” is Meta’s way of saying “how to target your ads with less data collected from 3rd party apps”. The guide will help social media marketers adjust their strategies for this brave new world of online data privacy.

The new option allows users to add “Topic” tags to their Reels when uploading. The topic tag should help users “reach people who share your interests.”
TikTok has confirmed that they’re testing a new “Nearby” feed. Users who are part of the test will see the feed appear next to their “Following” and “For You” tabs.
Pinterest has launched Shuffles, a tool for creating interactive collages and moodboards on iOS. Is this new, invite-only (for now) app the next great social media platform, or just a tool for brands and Pinterest creators?
Pinterest snuck Shuffles onto the App Store in early August 2022. Despite the lack of fanfare, the “new app designed for collective collaging” is already gaining popularity and has a long waitlist of eager users.
Shuffles is fully integrated with Pinterest and has everything expected from a social media platform, including a content feed, likes, hashtags, and a search bar. What makes Shuffles different is its interactive collage-making functionality.

TikTok will soon allow users to share their TikTok Stories directly to other platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
Unlike TikTok videos, which give users several choices for downloading, sharing, and reposting content, TikTok Stories have much more limited sharing options.
LinkedIn users will soon have access to a new templates feature. These professionally designed, colorful templates will make it quicker and easier than ever to create visually engaging posts.
Creating scroll-stopping posts is a challenge on any social media platform. LinkedIn is embracing more ways to help its users get the engagement their posts need.
“We want to make it even easier to create visual content that helps you stand out and inspire your professional community,” said Karen Baruch, Product Lead for Creator Strategy at LinkedIn.
On LinkedIn’s mobile app, you can now find a “Use a template” prompt after taping the “Post” or “Share” box.
Previously, Creator Studio only allowed Instagram users to schedule feed posts and videos, not Stories or Reels.
There are a few confusing caveats to this update, though.
You can only use Creator Studio for Instagram if your Instagram account is connected to a Facebook business page.
On the Facebook tab of Creator Studio, the Create reel option is easy to spot under Create post, but on the Instagram tab, you’ll select Instagram Feed or IG Video, depending on the length of your video. (Back in July, Meta announced that all Instagram videos are now Reels)
Taking a page out of Instagram’s sticker book, LinkedIn has released the new clickable link feature to help the platform’s users drive engagement and generate traffic to websites, resources, job listings and more.
The feature, which allows Instagram users to share their digital collectibles on the platform, was launched in May for select US creators and collectors. Today’s update opens NFT support to additional countries in Africa, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the Americas.
